Bremond Getting Ready For Polski Dzien

Polski Dzien (Polish Day) In Bremond TexasThe Bremond Chamber of Commerce is busy getting everything ready for the large crowd that will come to celebrate Bremond’s rich Polish heritage at Polski Dzien (Polish Day) XXIII on Friday and Saturday, June 25 & 26, 2010. Friday’s events include the Polish Day Beauty Pageant for girls and boys to be held at the Bremond ISD cafetorium starting at 7:00 PM with entertainment provided by Nashville recording artist, Becky Lanham.

Saturday mornings events start early with the Polish Pickle Run at 8:00 AM and the Kids 1K run at 8:45 AM. Arts & crafts and food booths will also open early Saturday morning. There will be lots of fun for the kids with a petting zoo, pony rides and a Kid’s Zone with a clown, inflatable bouncers and water slides. The big parade starts at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:30 AM and makes its way downtown. Parade marshals will be Zack & Jim from Waco 100. Other events for Saturday include judging of the barbecue and chili entries, 42-tournament, horseshoes, washers, three-on-three basketball and volleyball.

Daytime entertainment will be provided starting at 11:00 AM by Dr. Jim Mazurkiewicz playing his concertina along with Mark Hopcus on guitar and James Mazurkiewicz on the beben. Other entertainers include the Southern XTC Band who plays Southern Rock, Blues and Americana, Three Days Lost Gospel Band, and Central Texas award-winning Christian Rock Band, 10th Leper. There will be a street dance with music by Kristen Kelly and the Modern Day Drifters at 9:00 PM.
