Czernina. Bushia (Nora Meleski), how I wished I wouldn’t have been such a “city” girl and listened to you and learned how to make this with you. Your homemade, kluski…heaven. Fondest memories, ahhhh.

  2. Barbara Macejewski Lee

My grandma Szymanski raised chickens so there was always an abundance of chicken soup. She made
kluski every day to eat with the soup. I can still taste it now as I type this. I have tried to recreate her
recipe – however – it’s just not the same.

  3. Stuffed Cabbage is my favorite by far. When I moved to Missouri, I swear I taught 100 people to make it because no one had ever had it or had heard of it. Quickly, I got them addicted to my favorite dish!

  4. Mary Ann Kotara Schirmer

It’s a simple dish of mash potatoes mixed with saurkraut. Staraka called it kotofli y kapusta. It’s been served at tables in Panna Maria since the first settlers arrived in 1854.
