Fish Fry and Barn Dance in Buckhorn Texas

Fish Fry and Barn Dance At Sonny Janczak's in Buckhorn TexasFish fries are pretty common on Friday’s during lent and on Friday evening, April 9, 2011, a group of Polish music lovers met in a large barn just a few miles east of downtown Buckhorn, Texas for some good food, music, fun and fellowship. As it turned out, the owner of the barn, Sonny Janczak, is not only an accomplished Polish fiddler, he’s also capable of cooking up some of the best fried catfish you’ve ever eaten. The fish was served with french fries and a host of other delicious meatless dishes brought by the guests.

A jam session and dance followed the meal with a great bunch of talented musicians including Brian Marshall, Sonny Janczak, Ronnie Dutka, Chuck Bolin, Brian Wisnoski, Lawrence Wisnoski, Luke Wisnoski, Dr. Jim Mazurkiewicz, CJ Jozwiak and Mike Kurtin. They played a lively assortment of old Polish tunes, traditional Texas country and even a little Cajun music.

Below are a few photos of the fun and there is a slideshow of more photos on page 2. There are a few music videos in the Polish Texans Video section or you can see more videos on our YouTube Channel.
