Polish Day Celebrated At The Texas Renaissance Festival

2012 Polish Heritage Celebration At The Texas Renaissance FestivalThe Texas Renaisance Festival in Plantersville, Texas hosted Barbarian Invasion Day on Saturday, November 10, 2012 but the Polish Pub also sponsored a Polish Day celebration. When the grand parade started, there was a large group of people dressed in traditional Polish folk attire carrying the Polish Pub banner and a large Polish flag.

These Polish patriots were from Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Houston and included the Dance Group Wawel. After the long march through the Renaissance Festival grounds, the Polish group gathered at Andzej and Sharon Szpak’s Polonia Restaurant booth, home of the Polish Pub, for some good Polish food and drinks.

After performance by Iris and Rose and Arthur Greenleaf Holmes, the dancers, still dressed in traditional Polish folk dress, danced for a large crowd in front of the Polish Pub. They then moved to the beautiful new Hacienda San Jorge Restaurant and danced for the crowd there.

Below are a few photos of the fun and there is a slideshow of more photos on page 2.
