57th Annual St. Stanislaus Catholic Church In Anderson Texas Homecoming and BazaarIt’s been a long time since Anderson Texas has received any significant amount of rain but on Sunday, October 9, 2011, the day of St. Stanislaus Catholic Churches 57th annual homecoming bazaar, the skies opened up and the rain continued for much of the day. The good soaking rain was a welcome sight and it didn’t stop the die-hard bazaar fans from having a good time. The day began with a Holy Mass celebrated by pastor Fr. JoJo Cal-Ortiz and a blessing in the parish hall.

74th Annual Bazaar Held In Chappell Hill Texas

2011 St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Bazaar In Chappell HillA large crowd of people came to Chappell Hill Texas on Sunday, September 4, 2011 for St. Stanislaus Catholic Church’s 74th annual homecoming bazaar. A delicious catered barbecue dinner from Carl’s Barbecue was served beginning at 11am along with plenty of cold beer and soft drinks. There were Grocery, Ham and Sausage and Cake booths along with bingo for the adults and a Toy Booth and other activities for the kids. The live auction with lots of great items was held at 2pm.

Polski Dzien Polish Days 2011 In Bremond TexasPolish flags, Polish food and plenty of cold piwo set the stage for an amazing Polish music jam session in downtown Bremond, the Polish capital of Texas on June 25, 2011. The Polish pride was apparent as Texas Polish danceband fiddler Brian Marshall took the stage around 4 pm on this hot Texas afternoon. Brian introduced an all-star cast of around 20 musicians and then proceeded to rock the house with good old time Polish music.

Polski Dzien 2011 Held In Bremond Texas on June 25

Polski Dzien Polish Days 2011 In Bremond TexasExcitement was in the air early on Saturday morning, June 25, 2011 as the 24th annual Polski Dzien or Polish Days began in downtown Bremond, Texas. Vendors were setting up on Main Street long before the sun came up and the day officially started at 8:00 am with the Polish Pickle Run, a 5K run for adults and a 1K run for the kids. There were a record number of runners this year and each participant received a beautifully designed t-shirt with a photo of a vintage Polish wedding on it. As they crossed the finish line, the runners were greeted with cold piwo, kielbasa, watermelon and lots of other refreshments.

Every year, the Polish community of Bremond, Texas holds Polski Dzien (Polish Days), a wonderful small-town festival with a parade, a Polish Pickle Run, 42-tournaments, washer-thrower contests, a barbecue cook-off, and booth after booth of wares sold by tired, hot vendors–all to lively polka music cranked up loud on the PA system.

2011 Homecoming Bazaar At St. Joseph’s In Stoneham

2011 St. Joseph Catholic Church Annual BazaarSt. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stoneham, Texas, an old Polish parish established in 1909, held their annual homecoming bazaar on Sunday, May 29, 2011. The day started with a special bazaar Mass celebrated by Fr. Bill Kelly at 10:30 am in the beautiful remodeled church. At 11:00 am, the dinner line quickly grew as the workers started serving the delicious barbecue pork and beef dinner with all the fixings including a choice of homemade deserts and ice tea.

Fifth Annual Houston Polish Festival Held On April 30 and May 1

2011 Fifth Annual Polish Festival In Houston TexasOn a warm, windy spring day in Houston, Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church held their 5th annual Polish Festival. The festival was held on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, 2011 on the church grounds in the Spring Branch area of Houston. A large crowd showed up on both Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the good food, cold piwo and great entertainment. The festival opened on Saturday morning at 10:00 am with a presentation of the American, Polish and Texas flags and singing of the national anthems of the United States and Poland. There was plenty of activity for young and old on both days.
