Polish Heritage At The 2010 Brazos Valley Worldfest In College Station TexasSaturday, November 13, 2010 started out cloudy and cold but by the time the Brazos Valley Worldfest began there was a beautiful blue sky in College Station, Texas. The north wind continued to blow pretty hard for most of the day, but the sunshine warmed things up as thousands of people entered the 20 acre Wolf Pen Creek Park for the international heritage celebration. The festival featured cultural displays, demonstrations, international cuisine, performances, children’s crafts, educational competitions and many other activities.

2010 Polish Heritage Festival At St. Mary In Brenham, TexasPeople from all over Texas joined St. Mary’s Catholic Church as they hosted their 20th annual Polish Heritage Festival on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Parish Activity Center on the church grounds in Brenham, Texas. The hall filled up fast with diners who came for the delicious homemade Polish meal which included baked ham, kielbasa, rosol z kury, czarnina, sauerkraut, potatoes and green beans along with delicious desserts and ice tea, soft drinks and cold piwo to drink.

2010 St. Mary Catholic Church Homecoming Bazaar In Bremond, Texas

A large crowd of people with Polish roots in Robertson and Falls county enjoyed a beautiful blue sky and comfortable temperatures as St. Mary’s Catholic Church held their annual homecoming bazaar on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the church grounds in Bremond, Texas. A delicious barbecue beef and sausage dinner with all of the trimmings including homemade desserts and ice tea was served beginning at 11:30 am and it didn’t take long for the large parish hall to fill up with diners. Beef and chicken by the pound for take home was available outside at the barbecue pits.

56th Annual St. Stanislaus Catholic Church In Anderson Texas Homecoming and BazaarThe good Lord blessed Texas with beautiful blue skies and pleasant temperatures on Sunday, October 10, 2010 as a large crowd descended on St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson for their 56th Annual Homecoming and Bazaar. The day began with a Holy Mass that was co-celebrated by Fr. JoJo Cal-Ortiz and three priests with deep roots in the St. Stanislaus community, Msgr. Chester Borski, Msgr. Adam McClosky and Fr. Louis Sikorski. At the end of the Mass, Msgr. Borski blessed the new historical museum at the back of the church.

2010 Dozynki Houston Polish Harvest FestivalOur Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Houston Texas began their annual Dozynki or Polish Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 18, 2010 with a grand opening showing of the American, Polish and Texas flags. It was a typical hot Texas day with a few rain showers now and then but that didn’t dampen the fun. The two day Dozynki festival is based on a tradition that dates back for many centuries in Poland and symbolizes the end of the harvest for the farmers. It is a time of happiness, good food, folk dancing and live music. It was evident that the large crowd had found plenty of happiness, great food and lots of dancing and music.

St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Bazaar In Chappell HillIt was a beautiful Texas day as a large crowd descended on St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill for the annual homecoming bazaar on September 5, 2010. A delicious catered barbecue dinner with all the fixings was served beginning at 11am along with plenty of cold beer and soft drinks. There were Grocery, Ham and Sausage, Cake, Vendor Booths and bingo for the adults and a Toy Booth, Train Rides and other activities for the kids. The grand auction with lots of great items was held at 2pm.
