Mary W. Abramcik
January 6, 1915 - February 8, 2008

Mary W. Abramcik, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at St. Dominic Village Nursing Home on February 8, 2008. She was born in Bremond, Texas on January 6, 1915.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Abramcik; son, Leonard Abramcik; grandson, Rodney Abramcik; and her great-granddaughter, Autumn Dawn Abramcik. She is survived by her daughters Dolores Parker and husband Bryant, LaVerne Burch and husband Bob, son Ronald Abramcik and wife Melody; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Barbara Abramcik; and her sister, Frances Baker.

Mary was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for more than 25 years and a member of the Senior Senate of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston while living at St. Dominic’s Village. She was an active member of the Catholic church all of her life and was devoted to praying the rosary.

Mary also loved to learn new things – at the age of 80, Mary took up quilting. The staff at St. Dominic’s called her the “happy” lady because she always had a smile for everyone.
The family greatly appreciates the loving care given her by the staff at Station 2 at St. Dominic Village Nursing Home.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in the Warren Chapel of St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Boulevard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in the Warren Chapel of St. Dominic Village. The Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Keith Abramcik, Mark Abramcik, Kevin Parker, Eric Parker, Brad Parker, and Jason Burch.
