| Leo is a retired United States Air Force Lt Col and currently lives in
Aledo, Texas. His family has resided continuously for over 115 years in
the Thurber locale and his grandfather Wasieleski dug Thurber coal for
31 years. Dr. Leo S. Bielinski, sometimes referred to as 'Mr. Thurber' has spent many hours researching the history of the coal mining community of Thurber and the surrounding areas of Texas. He has written a book titled The Back Road To Thurber as well as many articles and papers on the history of the Thurber area. Leo is a retired United States Air Force Lt Col and currently lives in Aledo, Texas.
