Her parents encouraged her to understand people from different cultures and to learn foreign languages. She has gained a proficiency in Russian, German and English and also knows some French and Spanish. In Krakow, she worked in Physics and also worked on weekends as a tour guide and travel guide.

| Virginia Felchack Hill is best known as the long time editor of the award-winning Polish Footprints publication. Virginia served as the editor of the Polish Genealogical Society of Texas periodical from 1992 to 2005. Her hard work and dedication has led to the publication of much previously undocumented information about Texas Poles.

| Dr. Leo S. Bielinski, sometimes referred to as 'Mr. Thurber' has spent many hours researching the history of the coal mining community of Thurber and the surrounding areas of Texas. He has written a book titled The Back Road To Thurber as well as many articles and papers on the history of the Thurber area.
