2008 Polski Dzien In Bremond, Texas
The weather was hot and sunny and the crowd was large for the 21st annual Polski Dzien Polish Days celebration which was held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 in downtown Bremond, Texas. As always, the day began with the Polish Pickle 5K Run at 8 AM followed by the Kids K Run. There were plenty of runners for each event. Following the running, a raffle drawing was held and awards were handed out to the winners of the 20th annual Polish Pickle Run.
Brian Marshall Celebrates Birthday in Bremond Famous musician Brian Marshall from Houston celebrated his 40th birthday in Bremond last Saturday. A big group of relatives, friends and fellow band members came to town in two limousines. They made stops at St. Mary's Church and Cemetery, The Coal Mine Restaurant and the Dry Bean Saloon.
Marshall is a master fiddle player and the authority on Polish music in Texas. He and his band have played in Bremond on Polish Day and most local polks music fans have at least one of his CD's.
St. Joseph in Stoneham's 99th Annual Bazaar
St. Joseph's Church in Stoneham, Texas held their 99th annual homecoming bazaar on Sunday, May 25, 2008. The weather turned out great, well maybe a little hot, but there were plenty of liquid refreshments to cool you off.

Houston's 2nd Annual Polish Festival
The 2nd annual Polish Festival at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Houston was a rousing success. The festival was held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 on the church grounds in Spring Branch. Our Lady must have put in a good word for the parish because the weather was just about as perfect as it can get. The festivities started at 10 am and when I left a little after 9 pm it was still going strong. Everybody I talked to in the large crowd was having a good time.
On November 11, 2007, the Polish Genealogy Society of Texas celebrated their 25th anniversary at Wyndehaven Terrace in Houston. The meeting room was beautifully decorated with Polish colors and a large display of Polish dolls and Wycinanki provided by Larry Gurka and Stanley Gorcynski. Teana Sechelski started the program with a presentation on the history of PGST.

Polish Texans with roots in Robertson county came in from all over to celebrate their Polish heritage. St. Stanislaus Bazaar In Anderson Texas St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson, Texas held their annual homecoming bazaar on Sunday, October 14, 2007. Polish Texans with roots in Grimes county came in from all over to celebrate their Polish roots. There was a large crowd this year and the weather was great.
