William Lowell Kane and Abel Rosnovski, one the son of a Boston millionaire, the other a penniless polish immigrant-born on the same day near the turn of the century on opposite sides of the world-are brought together by fate and the quest of a dream. Two men - ambitious, powerful, ruthless - are locked in a relentless struggle to build an empire, fueled by their all-consuming hatred. Over sixty years and three generations, through war, marriage, fortune, and disaster, Kane and Abel battle for the success and triumph that only one man can have...
Epic Read!September 9, 2010 Jimi Oke(Pennington, NJ) This is my second Archer novel and I must say I couldn't help devouring every single word. It was fantastic. After reading "Paths of Glory", I was determined to seek out "Kane and Abel" and I wasn't disappointed. Archer is a great storyteller and his character development is superb. He even had me fooled. And unlike other books I've read recently, the story was satisfactorily resolved. You won't be disappointed.
Great book!August 31, 2010 Milanova53 This is my favorite book of all times. I've read it about 5 or 6 times in the last 10 years and I enjoy it every time. A great story of two men being born under very different cirmustances and how their lives interwine throughout the book. The sequel, The Prodigial Daughter, is excellent as well.

Great read from start to finishJuly 21, 2010 Luv2read(Oklahoma City) Classic Historical fiction read that had me turning the page and longing to not put it down. The ending floored me! The author really drew me into the characters. I read this over a year ago and I still think about it. One of my top favs and will read again. I enjoyed the sequel to this as well.
The Prodigal Daughter
A must read!July 7, 2010 R. Gjemmestad(Moss) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The book it self is a must read for all who love a good story.
Archer has created believable characters that you really feel you get to know.
The way he weaves the story of the to main characters together is really well done, but it is a bit anticlimactic at the end. Especially the storyline for Abel is really good, and could be worthy a book of it's own. Kane's story is a bit more straight forward and not the most interesting (at least not when compared to Abel's imprisonments and escapes).
The story it self is worth 5 stars from me, but the Kindle edition of the book is full off typos. I am not talking about just a few, they are all over the place, and sometimes the word is all wrong and you have to guess what it really says. But don't let this put you off from buying the book, because it is a really good read.
