St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stoneham, Texas held their annual homecoming bazaar on Sunday, May 27, 2007.

Lunch was served beginning at 11:00 am with great self serve barbecue pork and beef with all of the fixings along with home made deserts and ice tea.

If you went home hungry, it was your own fault. I've been going to St. Joseph's bazaar for at least 15 years now and their barbecue has always been some of the best in the state.


There were Grocery, Cake, Plant, Fruit and Sausage booths for the adults and Train Rides, Face Painting, Moonwalk and Toy Booth for the kids.

The live auction was a success as usual with lots of home made furniture, crafts, quilts and other items. An extra bonus for the football fans was the presence of Houston Texan head coach, Gary Kubiak and his family. Kubiak is a Houston native with Bremond roots and his wifes family, the Kaminski's and Busa's are from the Stoneham/Plantersville area. Gary donated several items of Houston Texan memobilia to the live auction and he also raised his hand quite a few times during the auction.

St. Joseph's pastor Father Ed Kucera mentioned to me that they had a new baptismal font so I had to take a look. The font fits perfectly with the style of the church and has

been restored by ecclesiastic artist Donell Hill of Houston. If you haven't seen the interior of St. Joseph's in a while, you need to check out the renovations that were done a few years ago. The church is absolutely gorgeous.
