2011 Polish Heritage Festival At St. Mary In Brenham

2011 Polish Heritage Festival At St. Mary In Brenham, TexasOn Sunday, October 23, 2011 St. Mary’s Catholic Church hosted their 21st annual Polish Heritage Festival at the Parish Activity Center on the church grounds in Brenham, Texas. At 11 am, the diners lined up to fill their plates with delicious Polish food which included baked ham, kielbasa, rosół z kury, czarnina, sauerkraut, potatoes and green beans along with delicious desserts and ice tea, soft drinks and cold piwo to drink.

After the meal, a long line formed at the kitchen where take home food to go was available, including traditional Polish dishes such as pierogi, kiszka, kielbasa, kluski and soups. Inside the parish hall there was a grocery booth, cake booth and a country store and outside there was a bouncy house, face painting and lots of other fun activities for the kids.

Daniel Cendalski and his band, Daniel and the Country Boys, entertained the crowd with a mix of old time Polish and Country music. The band took a break for the live auction as the crowd bid on homemade goodies, quilts, furniture and other items. The raffle drawing with lots of nice prizes was held late in the afternoon followed by more music from Daniel.

Below are a few photos of the fun and there is a slideshow of more photos on page 2
